A metropolitan bishop and his deputy have received a 30-month prison sentence, suspended for three years, after being found guilty of the unlawful removal of valuable religious objects from a church.
The British Museum has launched a public hotline asking for help to locate some 2,000 missing artefacts, revealing they were mostly ancient Greek and Roman gems and jewelry. Epidemiologists are investigating two deaths from leptospirosis in a village on Corfu. The deaths occurred in the northern village of Karousades.
