Strong US interest in local partnerships

Urgent reform

Developments in our broader region underscore that the most pressing reforms our country requires lie in defense and foreign policy. In some respects, we have allowed the Armed Forces to function like public utilities, and lagged in developing our defense industry. Our diplomacy still relies on outdated structures and tools from the previous century.
