Emergency alert issued as wildfire burns near homes in Thessaloniki suburb

A wildfire broke out Saturday afternoon in a forested and grassland area near homes in Efkarpia, a suburb northwest of Thessaloniki, above the city’s ring road and near the Papageorgiou Hospital.
