The recent energy agreements with US energy giants for exploration south of Crete, and drilling in the Ionian Sea and the influx of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Revithoussa and Alexandroupoli have obvious value and potential, but their impact on the existing regional scene should be assessed seriously and realistically.
