Deutsche Welle to axe Greek radio service amid funding cuts

Germany’s state-funded Deutsche Welle broadcaster says it will close its decades-old Greek language radio service, admired for its independent coverage during the 1967-74 dictatorship, citing budget cuts and Greece’s status as “a stable democracy with a diverse media landscape.”
