Cairo’s property moves and Athens’ diplomatic defenses

Bilateral ties between Greece and Egypt are not at their strongest. Cairo’s reversal of the agreement reached last December between the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai and the local authorities has raised concerns – especially given that this is not the first instance of Egyptian authorities appropriating third-party property.
