Over 1,500 hectares burnt in Keratea fire, extreme risk persists in greater Athens area, Evia, Viotia
The massive wildfire that broke out early Friday afternoon in the small town Keratea, on the eastern outskirts of Athens, leading to one death and widespread damage, scorched 1,581 hectares of forest and grassland between Keratea and Anavyssos, to the southwest, according to the National Observatory of Athens.
