The founder of the charity Ark of the World (Kivotos tou Kosmou), Father Antonios Papanikolaou, was sentenced by an Athens appeals court on Thursday to 9 years and 6 months in prison for punitive treatment of minors housed in its facilities. The sentence is harsher than the 4 years and 3 months imposed in November 2024.
