Greece to formally recognize Bektashi Alevi Muslims in Thrace as religious entity

The Greek government has submitted draft legislation that would officially recognize the Bektashi Alevi Muslim community of Thrace as a private religious legal entity. The bill, introduced by Education and Religious Affairs Minister Sofia Zacharaki, is open to public consultation until July 22.
