Greek-Albanian ties, Tirana’s EU bid, and the Fredi Beleri case

This week Albanian authorities finally moved to refer the case of Fredi Beleri, the ethnic Greek elected mayor of Himare who has been in pre-trial detention for months, to trial. The case has become a thorn in the side of Greek-Albanian relations.
