Greek Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, a US-trained technocrat with a background in computer science and public policy, was on Thursday elected president of the Eurogroup, the assembly of finance ministers from the countries that use the euro, beating his Belgian peer Vincent Van Peteghem.
