Gun Sabri, 50, is napping in a chair at a store owned by his brother, Ertal, in Avato. The village belongs to the municipality of Topeiros in the regional unit of Xanthi and is one of a handful of places in the country that is home to a community of Afro-Greeks, Black Greeks whose ancestors settled here centuries ago.
