The Greek insurance market is very well capitalized and has the potential to take on a broader role in managing natural disasters, both in covering losses and through its role as a long-term investor, stated the governor of the Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, during a debate with the president of the Spanish Union of Insurance Companies (UNESPA), Mirenchu del Valle Schaan, and the president of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies, Alexander Sarrigeorgiou, in the context of an event held recently during the annual general assembly of the association.
